PTC police hunting for mailbox vandals |

Peachtree City police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a series of mailbox bashings throughout the city.
According to Police Chief Skip Clark, police have taken numerous reports over the past month from citizens who have discovered their mailboxes damaged, destroyed, or stolen. Clark noted that most incidents appear to be occurring in subdivisions north of Highway 54, there have also been reports from citizens who reside in the southern area of Peachtree City. The subdivisions of the southern Kedron Village area appear to be targeted at a greater rate than others.
Clark said that at least one witness has stated that the offenders appeared to be teenagers and were traveling on a golf cart. Additionally, the witness believed they were using either a bat or a broom handle. The majority of the incidents have occurred during the evening and early morning hours.
This is the second police reward offered in the past month aimed at combating property crimes. Last week, Peachtree City Police offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a pair of suspected driveway vehicle arsons.
